M/V Kittiwake is such a fun boat. I feel like the view from the platform and experience provided by the vessel is fairly unique amongst the whale watching boats out on the water.

We had an absolutely awesome trip. This time of year is super cool in terms of weather and wildlife. The weather is just starting to feel summery and the cloudscapes rolling through the islands are incredible. Wildlife-wise we had the opportunity to observe so many of the species that call this area home.

The bird diversity that we witnessed was off the charts! We encountered bald eagles, herring gulls, glaucous-winged gulls, pigeon guillemots, rhinoceros auklets, black oyster catchers, pelagic cormorants, and double-crested cormorants, among others. Marine mammals? Just awesome! We encountered harbor seals, harbor porpoises, and even a humpback whale!

As I’ve written before, I really enjoy private charters. I love being able to customize the trip to the group’s aspirations. M/V Kittiwake is a very intimate boat experience, with plenty of access to a naturalist and a viewing platform right at water level. These charters are great for everything from family reunions to office retreats. I hope to see you out on the water soon to enjoy some wildlife!
